The trip was exciting before we got to Wales. with a drive through Dublin's port tunnel and a ride on a big boat!

Steam Engine overload at Festival of Steam, Carrog

Oisín & I had a spin on the little steam train "Irish Mail", which had spent its whole working life in the Llanberis, Slate Quarries - before being put out to pasture giving little kids and big kids! at festivals..

So many Steam trains.. the stuff that little boys dreams are made of.. and so many anoraks dreams to boot..

Betws-y-coed, I used to come here for the climbing gear shops alone... who knew there was a miniature diesel railway as well!

well worth the £1.50 tickets :-)

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, near Llangollen
