Travelog March - June 2001
Liberia - first stop in costa rica. This is a noticably wealthier country than the others so far, and more expensive, doh!.
Volcan Arenal - spent 3 days waiting for the cloud to clear so we could watch this live volcano erupt before our eyes, but to no avail!
San Jose - best central american capital so far, but that doesn't actually say much.
Volcan Poas - spent 4 hours waiting for the clouds to clear and it was well worth it. Its what I imagine the surface of the moon to look like.. just amazing.. and with a lake in the middle coloured an unearthly blue.
Puerto Viejo - paradise on the caribbean coast again. This surfing mecca is just gorgeous. We walked for miles along the beach with only vultures for company.
Costa Rica - Panama border crossing. Lorries actually cross this!!
